Logging Output

Description

Enables more control with regards to the real-time information being displayed in Server Management Console's Output panel. By default, general and execution events are to be displayed by the Output panel, however, you can choose to display audit events as well (for example, workflow object created, edited or deleted) or you can choose to omit certain events from being displayed.

To access the Logging Output settings, select Options on the Server Management Console's navigation bar, and then select SettingsLocal Settings > Logging Output.

Property Description
Execution Events Specifies whether real-time information regarding execution events (for example, running workflows, tasks, processes and active triggers) should be logged in the Output panel and whether or not manually executed events should be included in the log. The available options are:
  • None - If this option is selected, execution events are not logged in the Output pane.

  • Show events generated by this application instance - If selected, only events that are manually executed on this SMC application will be logged (that is, by selecting Runlocated in the Workflows or Repository section of the local SMC) (default).

  • Show all events - If this option is selected, information about all execution events, including events that are run manually by a user or started automatically by a trigger, will be logged.

Show events about triggers of disabled workflows If enabled, trigger events will be displayed in the Output pane even if the workflow in which it resides is disabled. This parameter is available only if the Execution Events parameter is set to Show all events.
General Events Specifies whether real-time information regarding general events (for example, Automate Service starts, Agent/Agent Group connections, User/User Group logons) should be logged in the Output panel of the SMC and whether events generated by another SMC instance should be included. The available options are:
  • None - If this option is selected, general events are not logged.

  • Show events generated by this application instance - If this option is selected, only general events that are generated by the local SMC are logged (default).

  • Show all events - If more than one SMC is connected to the same server component, selecting this option logs information about general events generated by those SMC applications as well. For example, if an agent was connected from another SMC instance, this SMC's Output pane will log the event as well.

Audit Events Specifies whether real-time information regarding audit related events (for example, a task, condition or other Automate object is  created, edited, deleted, exported) should be logged in the Output panel of the SMC and whether events generated by another SMC instance should be included. The available options are:
  • None - If this option is selected, audit events are not logged (default).

  • Show events generated by this application instance - If this option is selected, only audit events generated by this SMC application are logged.

  • Show all events - If more than one SMC is connected to the same server component, selecting this option displays audit events generated by those SMC applications as well. For example, if a task was created from another SMC, this SMC's Output pane will log the event as well.
