Description
Defines the default mail server to use when Automate sends an email on task error or when the parameter labeled Default server settings is enabled in the Advanced properties of the Send message activity.
To access Email properties, from Task Administrator, navigate to Options > Default Properties > Email.

Mail Server
Property | Description |

SMTP/Microsoft Exchange | The mail server
to use for outgoing email. The available options are:

SMTP
The following properties are revealed if the mail server selected is SMTP:
Property | Description |
---|---|
Server | The default SMTP mail server to use (i.e. mail.yourdomain.com). |
Port | The port to use for the default SMTP mail server. This is usually server port 25 (default) but may be different on special network configurations, especially if behind a firewall. |
Authentication type | The type of authentication
to be used by the mail server. The available options are:

User name | The username to be used to logon to the SMTP mail server and authenticate the mail transaction. This parameter is available only if the Authenticationtype parameter is set to any option besides None. |
Password | The password to be used to logon to the SMTP mail server and authenticate the mail transaction. This parameter is available only if the Authenticationtype parameter is set to any option besides None. |
Security | Defines the
SMTP security settings. The available options are:

Certificate | The SSL certificate to be used for SSL sessions. Click the folder icon to navigate to the desired SSL certificate. This parameter is available only if the Security parameter is set to Explicit TLS/SSL or Implicit TLS/SSL. |
Passphrase | The passphrase to authenticate the certificate. This parameter is available only if the Security parameter is set to Explicit TLS/SSL or Implicit TLS/SSL. |
Microsoft Exchange
The following properties are revealed if the mail server selected is Microsoft Exchange:
Property | Description |

Email address | A valid email address to authenticate Exchange connection. |
Password | A valid password used to authenticate Exchange connection. |
Exchange server | The Exchange server to connect to (for example, server.domain.com). |
Domain (optional) | The Exchange server domain. |
Protocol | The Exchange server
protocol. The available options are:

Version | The Exchange server
version. This parameter is active only if the Protocol
parameter is set to EWS (Exchange
2007 SP1 and later). The available options are:

Authentication type | The Exchange server
authentication type. This parameter is active only if the Protocol parameter is set to
WEBDAV (Exchange 2003, 2007).
