Junk Email
You can use Confirmed Junk Email and Suspected Junk Email to check for spam messages.
Confirmed Junk Email
Junk Email is spam email where the sender or the message stream can be reliably confirmed to come from a known spam source.
Confirmed Junk Email checks messages for patterns unique to junk email messages. For each message, signature information is extracted and sent to a centralized service. Therefore, you must run the Connectivity Test to check that Secure Email Gateway can contact the centralized service.
If there is a problem contacting the centralized service, the other spam detection methods are still used but detection rates and performance could be affected.
The recommended usage would be to Quarantine these emails enabling users to release any false positives using their PMM systems. The remaining emails can then be moved to Reject when you are confident of the minimal false positive rate. |
Suspected Junk Email
Suspected junk Email is spam email where the sender cannot be reliably confirmed.
Suspected Junk Email checks messages for patterns unique to mass mailed messages. Patterns are derived from a combination of message attributes that uniquely identify mass mailed messages.
The recommended usage would be to Quarantine these emails enabling users to release any false positives using their PMM systems. |
