TRUSTmanager Reputation
You can check sender reputation by using TRUSTmanager. TRUSTmanager checks the reputation of all connecting SMTP hosts against a constantly updated database of reputations provided by Clearswift. Hosts are evaluated for previous spam-related activities and are awarded one of four TRUSTmanager reputations.
View the checks performed on messages, according to TRUSTmanager reputation
- Navigate to Policy > Manage Policy Definition > SpamLogic Settings. The SpamLogic Settings page is displayed.
- Select the Spam Policy tab.
- In the Spam Policy panel, on the TRUSTmanager Reputation bar, move the mouse over:
-
Good: Senders with Good reputations are known to have no spam-related activity associated with them.
The default spam policy is configured to allow messages from senders with Good reputations to bypass further anti-spam checks.
-
Neutral: Senders with Neutral reputations are known, and their spam-related behavior is largely acceptable. However, they have not gained enough trust to be placed in the Good category.
The default spam policy is configured to allow messages from senders with Neutral reputations after performing anti-spam checks.
-
Suspicious: Senders with Suspicious reputations are either unknown, or they have previously shown some spam-related behavior. However, they have not shown enough bad spam-related behavior to be placed in the Bad category.
The default spam policy is configured to greylist messages from senders with Suspicious reputations before performing further anti-spam checks.
-
Bad: Senders with Bad reputations are known sources of spam.
The default spam policy is configured to reject messages from senders with Bad reputations without performing further anti-spam checks.
For information about specifying the actions taken by Secure Email Gateway based on TRUSTmanager reputations, see Configure TRUSTmanager settings.
To avoid messages from trusted sources being blocked, add them to an Allow List. |
