Extract PGP and S/MIME keys from email messages

  If your Secure Email Gateway is operating in FIPS mode, you cannot apply decryption to PGP messages. PGP encryption/decryption is not compliant with FIPS 140-2 and is unavailable in FIPS mode.

To extract PGP and S/MIMEClosed Secure Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (S/MIME) is a specification for secure email messages that uses the X.509 format for digital certificates and uses various encryption algorithms such as 3DES. keys from email messages which match a policy route, and then add them to the certificateClosed A digital means of proving your identity. When you send a digitally-signed message, you are sending your certificate and public key. Certificates are issued by a certification authority and can expire or be revoked. store:

  1. Point to the Policy tab.
  2. Under Manage Policy Definition, click Mail Policy Routes.
  3. Select the policy route.
  4. On the Manage Policy Routes toolbar, click Edit.
  5. In the Do NOT Decrypt or Apply Encryption Endpoints area, click Click here to change these settings.
  6. Select the Decrypt and apply content rules to PGP and S/MIME messages check box.
  7. Select the Extract the following types of key from the message check box, and then select an option in the S/MIME list.
  8. Follow the instructions on screen to configure the other key settings as required.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Apply the configuration.
