Query DNS records

The Query DNS records diagnostic tool enables you to query DNS records, such as the MX record for a mail server that does not appear to be accepting messages.

Query DNS records

  1. Under the System menu, select a submenu under which Query DNS records is displayed in the task panel.

     

    Depending on a submenu you select under the System menu, Query DNS records may not be displayed in the task panel.

    Select a submenu under which Query DNS records is available, for example, System > System Settings > Ethernet Settings, and System > SMTP Settings > Advanced Settings.

  2. The Query DNS Records dialog is displayed.
  3. Complete the dialog fields:

    • Type: A DNS record type to search for. Select a type from the list.
    • Address: The host or domain name (such as a-differentcompany.com) for which you wish to get DNS information.
  4. Click Query.
