Log Levels
You can configure SMTP log levels to determine the amount of information recorded in the SMTP log.
|
You should only increase log levels above the Info level temporarily, for diagnostic purposes. Increasing the log levels can result in significantly enlarged log files, which can adversely affect disk space and performance. On a day-to-day basis you can use the Message Tracking facility to identify the whereabouts of messages Secure Email Gateway has processed. |
Change the SMTP log levels
- Navigate to System > SMTP Settings > General Settings. The General Settings page is displayed.
-
The Log Levels panel displays the current log levels. Click Click here to change these settings.
-
From the drop-down menu, select a level.
- When receiving messages
- When sending messages
- Service Plug-ins (activities related to SMTP Service plug-ins, such as the SpamLogic perimeter defenses)
- Anti-Spam Components (such as the Mailshell and Rspamd services)
The higher the log level, from Error (low) to Debug (high), the more detail is logged. Each level adds detail while continuing to log the information of the lower levels.
