Configure Gateway

As part of the Gateway setup wizard, a number of settings are configured automatically, including a default Starter Policy. This means that you can start using Secure Email Gateway almost immediately. However, when you administer your Gateway for the first time, we recommend that you do the following as a minimum.

First steps

  1. Configure your Firewall Settings and test the configuration using the Connectivity Test under the System menu. This ensures that any updates to the connectivity of your system components are applied and helps to eliminate networking issues that might otherwise adversely impact server performance.
  2. Familiarize yourself with the basic concepts of setting up a security policy. You can then review and adapt the Gateway Starter Policy to suit your organization's requirements.

      We recommend reviewing the starter policy before using Secure Email Gateway in a live production environment.
  3. Test your policy to ensure that it is working correctly.
