Apply new configuration

If you make changes in the Policy settings, System settings, SMTP settings or PMM settings, you must apply the changed configuration to Secure Email Gateway to make the changes take effect. You can discard pending configuration changes, so you can quickly revert to the previous (original) configuration.

If you use Peer Gateways (i.e. when multiple Gateways are peered), any configuration changes from a local Gateway can then be applied to all the peers at the same time. See Peer Gateways for more information.

Apply new configuration

  1. On the web UI, click Apply Configuration in the Changes Made task panel.

Alternatively, navigate to System > Configuration > Apply Configuration.

  2. On the Apply Configuration Now page, provide information about the change.
  3. Click Apply Now.

When the process has finished, the Configuration History tab on the Backup & Restore page is displayed. The latest change is listed at the top. You can select each change to view its Configuration Details.

Discard pending configuration

  1. On the web UI, click Discard Configuration in the Changes Made task panel.

  2. In the Confirm Discard Configuration dialog, click Yes.

    This operation cannot be undone.

  3. When the configuration changes have been discarded, the Success dialog is displayed. Click Close.

The configuration will be returned to the last successful deployment.

This operation will affect all logged in Administrators that are modifying configuration. Other users, also logged in to Secure Email Gateway but from a different client, would also lose any changes they have made but not yet applied.

Configuration discards will be recorded in the User Interface Service Access Log.

Discard configuration will not change the current deployed configuration. The web UI will be refreshed to match the current configuration.
