  1. Navigate to System > Gateway Settings > Database Optimization. The Database Optimization page is displayed.
  2. Click Click here to change these settings.
  3. To enable or disable the database optimization, select or clear the check box.
  4. If you enable the database optimization, also set the Shrinking the database option by selecting or clearing the check box.
  5. If you enable the database optimization, also set the Rebuilding the database indexes option by selecting or clearing the check box.
  6. Set the schedule for the database optimization:

    • Specify how often you want Database Optimization to occur (Daily, Weekly or Monthly) using the drop-down menu.
    • If Daily, specify the Time of day, in 24 hour format, at which the database optimization is to occur.
    • If Weekly, specify the Day of the week on which the database optimization is to occur using the drop-down menu and the Time of day, in 24 hour format.
    • If Monthly, specify whether the database optimization should occur on the First, Second, Third, Fourth or LastDay of the week using the drop-down menu and the Time of day, in 24 hour format.
  7. Click Save.

A Database Optimization is pending or Database Optimization in progress... message will be displayed during optimization.

The Database optimization will run in the background and may take some time to complete. Processing of the audit data will be suspended at times during this process and access to the Database may be restricted. Optimization will be suspended at regular intervals to allow other scheduled tasks to run.

If you use Peer Gateways (i.e. when multiple Gateways are peered), any configuration changes from a local Gateway can then be applied to all the peers at the same time. See Configure Peer Gateways for more information. If you change any configuration or policy settings, you must Apply Configuration for the new settings to take effect. You can do this either from the Changes Made panel, or System > ConfigurationApply Configuration. See Apply new configuration for more information.
