JIRA Integration
With Event Manager and JIRA integration, issue tickets are generated automatically for all new controlled events detected in your Event Manager environment.
Atlassian JIRA is the most popular issue tracking system available today. A high percentage of development and operations departments worldwide use JIRA for issue management. The ability of JIRA to manage issues, trigger workflows, and track code and production changes is crucial for modern DevOps departments.
Easy, direct integration of Event Manager and Atlassian JIRA saves you a lot of manual work and completely automates the reporting of Event Manager controlled events into your organization's JIRA project.
Configuration within Event Manager
The following instructions explain how to set up a direct JIRA integration within your Event Manager environment:
- Navigate to Configuration Home > Settings > Advanced Alert and Automation Configuration.
- From the Alarms tab, expand Event Manager and select Send Event Assigned to JIRA to send an alert each time an event is assigned to a user. Alternatively, select Send Security Alert Event to JIRA to send an alert each time a Security Control with enabled notifications triggers an alert.
- In the Send Event Assigned to JIRA (or Send Security Alert Event to JIRA) panel, click the Actions tab and against Run An External Application, click the
Edit icon.
- In the Parameters field, enter the JIRA endpoint URL, User and Password for this JIRA project, JIRA Project key (not the project name) of the JIRA project where new issues are to be created and JIRA Issue type that should be used for issues detected by Event Manager replacing _JIRAURL_, _YOURJIRAUSERNAME_, _YOURJIRAPASSWORD_, _JIRAPROJECTKEY_ and _JIRAISSUETYPE_ text (as shown below).
Once the JIRA integration is complete, JIRA tickets are automatically created within your JIRA project for all Event Manager controlled events, as shown below.
