Adjust CuteSITE Builder text and edit options

You can set editing options that specify the display of hidden characters, how you want to follow and edit links, and whether to display information in container pages that is not on your system.

1. Choose Tools > Options.

2. Click the Text tab.

3. Under Show hidden characters select the characters you want displayed.

• Spaces are hidden by default.

• Named anchor characters are the target of an anchor link.

• Link symbols in the map are small chain icons that appear over the lower-left corner of any map element that has an associated link. This symbol reminds you that these elements are "hot" as you edit a Web file.

• Floating image markers appear when you select to align text to the left or right of a picture. These markers show where you initially placed the image.

4. Under Follow links using select how you want to follow (or test) and edit links:

• If you choose Click to follow a link, you can then edit a link by Ctrl+clicking it.

• If you choose Ctrl+Click to follow a link, you can then edit a link by clicking it.

5. Under Show container page content select whether you want the content of all container pages displayed or only the content that is on your computer.

• Select All when you want all links to files and URLs in container pages displayed when you go to the container page.

• Select Quick-loading only to stop CuteSITE Builder from opening linked files or URLs in container pages as you edit. CuteSITE Builder will, however, load and display only "quick-loading" files or URLs, which are on your system. The Quick-loading only option is particularly useful when you are working offline and do not want to wait as CuteSITE Builder tries to find a link or URL that is not available.

Notes

• These settings apply to all files you work on, and are saved when you exit from the current CuteSITE Builder session.

• When you install CuteSITE Builder, anchors and symbols appear by default; the other hidden characters do not.

• The appearance of hidden characters when you publish to the Web depends on your browser settings.

• CuteSITE Builder does not currently show hidden paragraph marks, also called "carriage returns."
