You can increase or reduce the size of a picture either by dragging with the mouse or by using the Image Properties dialog box.
Resize an picture by dragging
You can drag to resize a picture you have added in text or in the map. You cannot drag to resize background pictures.
1. Click the picture to select it.
2. For pictures in text, drag the selection handles to any side to resize the picture vertically or horizontally, or drag the corner selection handles to resize the picture proportionally.
OR
Choose Edit > Image > Resize and drag a selection handle on the picture. The status bar displays the new size of the picture in pixels as you drag.
3. For map pictures, drag a corner selection handle to resize. Map pictures do not maintain proportions when resized by dragging.
Resize a picture using the Properties box
You can use the Image Properties dialog box to resize any picture. The way you display the dialog box depends on whether the picture has been added in text, in the background of a page area, or as a map element.
1. If the picture has been added in text in a page area, double-click the picture.
If the picture has been added in the background of a page area, right click the page area and choose Properties > Page Area, then click the Background tab. Then click the Properties button.
If the picture has been added as a map element, right-click the picture and choose Properties. Then click the Properties button.
2. Click the Resize tab.
3. (Optional) By default, CuteSITE Builder resizes pictures proportionally (that is, maintains the height/width ratio of the picture). If you want to change height or width without maintaining the picture’s proportions, clear the Maintain Proportions check box.
Note that resizing a picture without maintaining proportions may make the picture appear distorted.
4. (Optional) By default, CuteSITE Builder resizes by pixels. You can also resize by percent. Click the drop-down arrow after the word "Pixels" to change the method of resizing to Percent.
5. Specify the amount you want to resize the height and width of the picture. If you are resizing proportionally, both the height and width settings change if you enter changes to either one.
OR
(Optional; only for pictures in text) Click the Size to Area option to have CuteSITE Builder provide pixel settings that proportionally size the picture to best fit the border or page body in which it appears.
6. (Optional) If the picture is a picture in text (inserted in a page area), you can click Apply to save your changes without closing the dialog box. You can then continue to crop the picture, or click Reset to restore the picture to the size it was before you last clicked Apply.
Notes
n You can resize a picture to a maximum of 3600x3600 pixels.
n You can resize an picture by dragging to a minimum of 21x21 pixels.
n You cannot drag to resize a picture if either the height or width is less than 21 pixels.
n If you are both cropping and resizing a picture, CuteSITE Builder applies the crop settings first and then resizes the picture.
n If you recrop a picture, CuteSITE Builder reapplies the resize settings after applying the new crop settings.
n If you have inserted the same picture in multiple places in the file, you must resize each picture individually. Resizing the picture on one page does not cause the same changes in other instances of the picture. However, you can resize a picture, copy it to the clipboard, and paste it in other locations.
n If you select the Size to Area option for a picture and then resize the border in which the picture appears, the picture does not automatically resize. You must use the Image Properties dialog box again to size the picture to the new dimensions of the page area that contains it.
n You can reduce the size of a picture when you first insert it in your file. In the Insert Image dialog box, click the Limit image size (in pixels) box, then enter the width and height you want the picture to be. The picture will be resized proportionally. The settings you specify will be saved and will appear the next time you insert a picture. So be sure to check this setting and adjust it, if necessary, whenever you insert a picture.
