Anchors

Links to anchors are just like other links (basic links, field links, and so on). The difference is in their target.

Usually, all links take visitors to the beginning of the linked page. However, if your pages are long or complex, you may want visitors to jump to a location other than the top of the page.

To do this, first choose Insert > Anchor to place a named anchor in the text, as shown here next to FindIt User's Guide. You can then create one or more links to it, by choosing Link > Link to an Anchor on.

To hide the anchor symbol as you edit, choose Tools > Options and then click Named anchors.

An anchor leaves a small empty space in browsers; before you publish to the Web, place anchors on blank lines so these spaces are not visible to visitors.
