Objects Overview
Objects let you extend CuteSITE Builder by embedding other types of files—for example, a file, picture, video, or spreadsheet—within a CuteSITE Builder file. To embed an object in a CuteSITE Builder page, right-click and choose Insert > Object. You can embed an existing file, create a new (blank) object, or use Paste Special to embed an object.
Once you embed an object, in order to modify its content, you or other authors must have the application that originally created it, also called the server application
Important Although many applications support object embedding, their degrees of support vary. Your capabilities in working with objects depend on the embedding options their server applications provide. Experiment with objects to understand the ways you can use them to extend CuteSITE Builder files.
Most objects (with the exception of some multimedia file types) are fully contained within the file. Unlike files merely referenced from within container pages, files that you embed as objects do not keep track of their original locations; they are stored within the CuteSITE Builder file. Similarly, you can edit objects, but changes you make to an object do not change the original file, and vice versa: if you change the external file, it does not affect the object.
When you publish to a Web site, objects are automatically converted to pictures. For other issues to keep in mind while using objects, see Embed an object in a page.
