Map Overview

CuteSITE Builder includes two maps: the main map and the OverAll map.

When you start CuteSITE Builder, the main map appears. Each page you create appears in the map as an icon. When you hover over a page icon in the map, the pages title appears. When you click the icon, the pages contents appear in the page area. As you work with pages, the pages change their appearance in the main map to reflect your actions.

You can work with the main map at two levels of detail. Choose Map > Main > 200% to display a smaller area of the map in greater detail, or to focus on one particular group of pages. When you display the map at 200%, the size of the page icons increases, and short titles of pages appear in the map as non-editable labels. If a page doesnt have a short title, CuteSITE Builder displays the first few characters of the regular title.

Right-click in the map to display a menu that includes options to add pages, sequences, labels, shapes, or pictures. Right-click in the map and choose Properties to display a dialog box with which you can adjust the background color of the map and also change other map defaults, such as whether the current page always scrolls into view.

Choose Map > OverAll > Show to display the OverAll map. This map displays an overview of all items in the map, allowing you to view a complex file in its entirety. A box in the OverAll map outlines the exact portion of the file currently being displayed in the main map. You can drag this box to change the main map display. If the main map is hidden, you can add or move map elements (such as pages, labels, and shapes) in the OverAll map.

Choose View > Outline > Show to display the contents of the map in a list. The default is a hierarchical list, which lets you rearrange the structure of sequences and up level links.

Commands on the map menu let you float each map. When maps are floating, you can drag them to any position on the screen, and also resize it by dragging its borders. Otherwise, they remain fixed in one place (either the top, bottom, right, or left of the screen).

When you save a Web site file, CuteSITE Builder also saves the size, arrangement, and display of maps. When you publish a file, you have the option of including the main map. You cannot publish the OverAll map or Outline.
