You can set individual sites to connect through a proxy server in the Site Manager.
Highlight the site in the Site Manager.
(CuteFTP Professional only) On the menu bar, click File > Properties.
Click the Options tab.
In the Site specific configuration options list, choose Use site specific option.
Click the Proxy button.
In theProxy type list select either FTP or HTTP to match the protocol your proxy server supports.
In Host name, type in the name of the proxy server.
In the Port box, type the proper port for the proxy server. The default port for proxy servers is 8000.
If the proxy server requires a user name and password, or some other authentication, select the Use authentication check box. If the proxy server doesn't require authentication, skip to step fifteen.
Enter your proxy User name.
Enter your proxy Password.
If your proxy server only requires the user name and password you entered skip to step fifteen. If the proxy requires a different authentication method, click Advanced and continue with step thirteen.
Choose one of the following advanced authentication methods.
Choose USER user @site when your proxy server requires the USER command followed by your user name and the site name to allow connection with a remote site. You can replace the @ sign with a different separator to match what your proxy server requires.
Choose SITE site when your proxy server requires the SITE command followed by the address of the remote FTP site to allow a connection.
Choose USER with logon when your proxy server requires the USER command followed by a user name and password to allow connection with a remote site.
Choose USER/PASS/ACCT when your proxy server requires all three commands before allowing a connection to a remote site.
Choose OPEN site when your proxy server requires the OPEN command followed by the site name before allowing connection to the site.
Choose Custom when your proxy server requires a login sequence different from those above.
Click OK to return to the Proxy window.
Click OK to accept your Proxy settings.
Click Connect or Exit to close the Site Manager.
Contact your system administrator for the proper Host name, Port, User name, Password, and proxy type, as well as any required advanced authentication methods.
Type a command.
Follow the command with a space and an appropriate variable. Choose from the variables listed.
%host% sends the host name you typed in the Proxy server options window.
%user% sends the user name you typed in the Proxy server options window.
%pass% sends the password you typed in the Proxy server options window.
%port% sends the port number you typed in the Proxy server options window.
%fire_pass% sends the password you typed in the Proxy server options window as authentication for the firewall.
%fire_user% sends the user name you typed in the Proxy server options window as authentication for the firewall.
Type each variable with percent signs before and after.
Press the Enter key to separate commands.
Enter any other commands and variables, separating commands with a line break.
Click OK.
