Resuming transfers

To automatically resume transfers

CuteFTP will automatically attempt to resume interrupted transfers (caused by lossy connection, server kicked users, slow server, etc.) CuteFTP will not auto-resume interrupted transfers when the remote server is unreachable, i.e. no connection available, server is down, etc. You must manually resume in those situations.

To manually resume a transfer

  1. Highlight the stopped item in the queue.

  2. On the menu bar click Tools > Queue > Transfer Selected orTransfer All.

Note

In you have not shut down and restarted CuteFTP since the interruption took place, CuteFTP will sense that the transfer is within its original context and will attempt to resume it from the point it left off. If no longer in the original context, CuteFTP will prompt you to overwrite the destination file (i.e. start over again.) You can setup overwrite rules which will better handle such situations.
