Choosing file list sorting schemes

To choose a file list sorting scheme

1. On the menu bar, go to Tools > Global Options.

2. Highlight Display.

3. Select Use Smart Sorting for Alphanumeric file names.

OR

• Select Use Standard lexicographic sorting for alphanumeric file names.

Tip

Smart Sorting always lists file names with smaller numbers first.  For instance A2 would come before A12.  David Wincelberg developed Smart Sorting.  CuteFTP Pro 3 uses Smart Sorting by default.

Standard Lexicographic sorting lists file names using one character at a time reading from left to right.  For instance A2 would come AFTER A12. MS Windows uses Standard Lexicographic sorting by default.
