Choosing which files and folders to display (Filtering)

When you apply filters, you do not add or remove files, you simply set which files will be visible or invisible in CuteFTP Pro.

To choose which files to display

  1. On the menu bar, click View > Filter View.

  2. Select the Enable Filtering check box.

  3. Click the Filter Mask tab.

  4. Type the names of files you want to display, or use wildcard masks to include a group of files.

  5. Click Add.

  6. Click the Filter NOT Mask tab.

  7. Type the names of files you want to Hide, or use wildcard masks to exclude a group of files.

  8. Click OK.

 

To choose which folders to display

  1. On the menu bar, click View > Filter View.

  2. Select the Enable Filtering check box.

  3. Select the Apply filtering to folder name(s) check box.

  4. Click the Filter Mask tab.

  5. Type the names of files and folders you want to display, or use wildcard masks to include groups of files and folders.

  6. Click Add.

  7. Click the Filter NOT Mask tab.

  8. Type the names of files and folders you want to Hide, or use wildcard masks  to exclude groups of files and folders.

  9. Click OK.

 

To use filters with transfers

  1. On the menu bar, click View > Filter View.

  2. Select the Enable Filtering check box.

  3. Select the Apply to file transfers check box.

  4. Set your filters in the Filter Mask tab and Filter NOT Mask tab.

  5. Click OK.

 

To make filters case sensitive

  1. On the menu bar, click View > Filter View.

  2. Select the Enable Filtering check box.

  3. Select the Case sensitive filtering check box.

  4. Set your filters.

  5. Click OK.

 

To use server filters

  1. On the menu bar, click View > Filter View.

  2. Select the Enable Filtering check box.

  3. Select the Enable server side filtering check box.

  4. Type in a filter from the Unix ls program.

  5. Click OK.
