On the menu bar, go to Tools > Global Options.
Expand Connection.
Click SOCKS4 & 5.
Use the highlighted proxy when connecting
Select this check box to connect to an FTP site through a proxy server.
Clear this check box to connect to an FTP site without connecting through a proxy server.
Proxies
Click on a host name in the list to make FTP connections through that specific server.
Click the Add button then type the server name in the Host name box to include a server in the Proxies list.
Click the Remove button to delete a highlighted server from the Proxies list.
Host name
Click on the Add button and you can type in the name of a new proxy server.
OR
Click on a server in the Proxies list, and you can edit the name in this box.
Port
Type the proper port for the server highlighted in the Proxies list. The default port for proxy servers is 8000.
User name
Enter or edit the user name for the highlighted proxy server.
Password
Enter or edit the password for the highlighted proxy server.
Proxy type
Select either FTP or HTTP to match the protocol the highlighted proxy server supports.
Advanced button can be clicked to choose one of the following advanced authentication methods.
Choose USER user @site when your proxy server requires the USER command followed by your user name and the site name to allow connection with a remote site.
Choose SITE site when your proxy server requires the SITE command followed by the address of the remote FTP site to allow a connection.
Choose USER with logon when your proxy server requires the USER command followed by a user name and password to allow connection with a remote site.
Choose USER/PASS/ACCT when your proxy server requires all three commands before allowing a connection to a remote site.
Choose OPEN site when your proxy server requires the OPEN command followed by the site name before allowing connection to the site.
Choose Custom when your proxy server requires a login sequence different from those above.
Type a command.
Follow the command with a space and an appropriate variable. Choose from the variables listed.
%host% sends the host name you typed in the Proxy server options window.
%user% sends the user name you typed in the Proxy server options window.
%pass% sends the password you typed in the Proxy server options window.
%port% sends the port number you typed in the Proxy server options window.
%fire_pass% sends the password you typed in the Proxy server options window as authentication for the firewall.
%fire_user% sends the user name you typed in the Proxy server options window as authentication for the firewall.
Type each variable with percent signs before and after.
Press the Enter key to separate commands.
Enter any other commands and variables, separating commands with a line break.
Click OK.
Contact your system administrator for the proper Host name, Port, User name, Password, and proxy type, as well as any required advanced authentication methods.
