SOCKS settings for individual sites

You can set individual sites to connect through a SOCKS4 or SOCKS5 server in the Site Manager.

To setup a SOCKS connection for an individual site
  1. Highlight the site in the Site Manager.

  2. On the menu bar, click File > Properties.

  3. Click the Options tab.

  4. Choose Use site specific option, from the Site specific configuration options list.

  5. Click the SOCKS button.

  6. In the SOCKS type list select Don't use socks, SOCKS4, or SOCKS5.

  1. In Host name, type in the name of the SOCKS server.

  2. In the Port box, type the proper port for the SOCKS server.  The default port for SOCKS servers is 1080.

  3. If you chose Don't use socks or SOCKS4 skip to step 12. If you chose SOCKS5 it may require a user name and password. If this is the case, select the Use authentication check box and continue with step 10. If your SOCKS5 server doesn't require a user name and password clear the Use authentication check box and skip to step 12.

  4. Enter your proxy User name.

  5. Enter your proxy Password.

  1. Click OK to accept your SOCKS settings.

Note

Contact your system administrator for the proper Host name, Port, User name, Password, and SOCKS type, as well as any required user names and passwords.
