Change
standard CuteHTML settings
CuteHTML
installs with standard settings which may be changed to each user's preference.
To change the standard new document
The existing
template may be changed to fit each user's needs.
Note: Changes
to the template will affect all new documents created from that point
forward.
- From the Menu Bar, click Tools > Settings.
- Click the Editor tab.
- Click the Edit New Document Template
button.
- Position your cursor at point you wish to edit
and click with the left mouse button. (Notice the entire template is
highlighted and will be deleted if you start typing before you click to
refocus the cursor.)
- Make your changes and click OK to save,
or Cancel to retain the original template.
To choose your default font
The default
type, style, and size may be changed for the current and future documents.
- From the Menu Bar, click Tools > Settings.
- Click the Editor tab.
- Click the Choose Font for editor button.
- Select a new type, style and size.
- Click OK to save the new settings or
Cancel to retain the default settings.
To choose which types of files open in CuteHTML
from the right click menu
By default,
documents with html, htm or txt extensions can be accessed through a right
click mouse action from Windows® Explorer. Users may add to the default
file types
- From the Menu Bar, click Tools > Settings.
- Click the Editor tab.
- Type in file extensions in the Right click shell integration for these file
types box
- Select the Right click shell integration
for folders check box. (Clearing the checkbox will take the Edit with CuteHTML option off
the right click menu.)
- Click OK.
To turn off Allow Editing Beyond End of Line
Active by
default, this feature enables
the user to click in any open area in the HTML document and insert text
or graphics.
- From the Menu Bar, click Tools > Settings.
- Click the Editor tab.
- Clear the Allow
editing beyond end of line check box.
- Click OK.
To hide line numbers
By default
CuteHTML shows line numbers for better code management.
- From the Menu Bar, click Tools > Settings.
- Click the Editor tab.
- Clear the Show line numbers check box.
- Click OK.
To
turn off Word Wrap
CuteHTML defaults
to wrap lines of text for complete document visibility.
- From the Menu Bar, click Tools > Settings.
- Click the Editor tab.
- Clear the Word
Wrap check box.
- Click OK.
To select
the number of spaces the tab key will indent
- From the Menu Bar, click Tools > Settings.
- Click the Editor tab.
- Type the number of spaces in the box provided.
- Click OK.
Note: Each of the
features above may be toggled from active to inactive. Since the features
above default to active, click to make them inactive, click again to make
active, etc.
