Example <xmp>

The Example button must be added to the toolbar.

This command is used to set apart quotations in a block of selected text by inserting indents both on the right and left margins to a selected block of text and change its font in order to give it the appearance of preformatted text. With the latest browser versions, this command has become obsolete. It is recommended that this command be replaced by the Preformatted <PRE>.

  1. Select the text in the document you want to display in bold.

  2. Click on the Example command.

The selected text will be inserted between the tags <xmp> and </xmp>.

If you apply an Example style to several words within a paragraph, the text will be displayed on a single line like an independent paragraph even if the end of paragraph or end of line tags are not present.
