Shell Options dialog

Most of CuteZIP’s functionality can be accessed from anywhere within Windows by enabling its right-click shell integration. This allows you to work with archives without using the CuteZIP interface. The options in the Shell Options dialog are accessible from CuteZIP’s Menu Bar by choosing Edit > Settings > Shell Options.
 

Main Options

Enable right-click shell integration

This determines whether any of the options selected here will appear in the right-click menu.

Non-cascaded shell menu

With this choice, CuteZIP's right-click layered menus will be condensed into one main menu listing all options.

Display icon in shell menu

When this choices is enabled, the CuteZIP icon will be displayed in the right-click menu.

Right-click Add menu

The following options are available when you right-click a non-zip (compressed) file. You may add or remove options from the right-click menu by checking the boxes next to them.

Add to new archive

If you create a new archive using this option you will be prompted for the archive's name and folder.

Add to [current folder\filename.ext]

This option will automatically create a new archive with the same name as the original file and save it in the same folder as the original file.

Add to current archive

This option will add the selected file to the archive currently active in CuteZIP.

Add to > [recent archive history]

CuteZIP hows list of previously opened archive files. You can choose the one you want to add a file to.

Number of files in history

This option sets the maximum number of archives displayed by the Add to > [recent archive history] option.

 

Right-click Extract menu

The following options are available when you right-click on a compressed file. Add or remove options from the right-click menu by checking the boxes beside them.

Extract to [current folder]

Extracts files from the archive to the same folder that the archive is located in.

Extract to [current folder/filename folder}

Creates a new folder with the same name as the archive in the folder that the archive is currently located in. Then CuteZIP extracts the archive's files to the new folder.

Extract to folder...

Allows you to select or create a folder to extract the files to.

Convert to >  

Converts an archive to a different format. For example, it will convert a ZIP file to a CAB file.

Extract to >

Shows a recent list of folders used for previous file extractions. Choose which one you want to extract the files into.

Number of directories in history  

Sets the maximum number of archives displayed by the Extract to option.
