The Settings Template inherits settings from the Site, and a user initially shares the settings of the Settings Template in which the account was created. Inherited settings are marked by gray check boxes. You can override inherited settings by clearing or selecting the check box.
The check boxes toggle through three settings:
Inherited - A gray check
	 box
means no changes have been made
by the administrator to the settings inherited from the Settings Template
or Site. This is a neutral indicator and simply means the setting
is the same as the parent level (Settings Template or Site) for that
option. It does not indicate whether it is checked at the parent level.
Overridden, allowed - A
	 black check mark
 indicates
that the administrator has overridden this inherited setting. A black
check mark indicates that the setting is enabled for the Settings
Template or user even if it is disabled in the Site or Settings Template.
Overridden, not allowed
	 - A blank check box
 means
the administrator has overridden this inherited option. This setting
does not apply to the Settings Template or user, even if it is enabled
in the Site or Settings Template.
You can change a user’s Settings Template by dragging and dropping the user into a different level, or using the procedure in Moving a User to a Different Settings Template. The account's inherited settings change to reflect the settings of its new Settings Template; however, if a user account contains modified (overridden) settings and is moved to a new Settings Template, those modifications remain in effect at the new Settings Template.
