Managing Folders in the Web Transfer Client

Using the Web Transfer Client (WTC) you can manage the files and folders both on your local system and on the remote system(s) to which you have access. The procedures below describe how to:

To open a file

  1. Click the file that you want to open in the remote pane. then click Open File.

  2. The file will be opened using the appropriate application or in another browser tab, depending on your browser’s settings.

To create a new folder

  1. Click New Folder. A dialog box appears into which you can type a name for the folder. The default name is New Folder.

  2. Type a name for the folder, then click OK. The new folder appears in the pane in which it was created.

    If you attempt to create a new folder on the remote file system and a folder with that name already exists, an error message appears.

To rename a folder

  1. Click the folder, then click Rename. A dialog box appears into which you can type a name for the folder. The default name is New Folder.

  2. Type a name for the folder, then click OK. The new folder appears in the pane in which it was created.

To delete a folder

  1. Click the folder, then click Delete. A confirmation message appears.

  2. Click OK. The folder is removed.

To navigate within the local or remote files and folders

The files and folders for the location appear in the pane (if you have permission to access it).

To move up one folder

To sort the files and folders within the local or remote file system

For example, to sort by file type, click the page icon in the far left column; to sort by date, click Modified.
