Using the Web Transfer Client (WTC) you can manage the files and folders both on your local system and on the remote system(s) to which you have access. The procedures below describe how to:
Sort information by type, name, date modified, or bytes (click column header to sort by that category)
You can also run a file in the file list, providing you have the appropriate application installed. For example, you can select an XLS file, then click Run, and the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet will open, if you have Microsoft Excel installed.
Click the file that you want to open in the remote pane. then click Open File.
The file will be opened using the appropriate application or in another browser tab, depending on your browser’s settings.
Click New Folder. A dialog box appears into which you can type a name for the folder. The default name is New Folder.
Type a name for the folder, then click OK. The new folder appears in the pane in which it was created.
If you attempt to create a new folder on the remote file system and a folder with that name already exists, an error message appears. |
Click the folder, then click Rename. A dialog box appears into which you can type a name for the folder. The default name is New Folder.
Type a name for the folder, then click OK. The new folder appears in the pane in which it was created.
Click the folder, then click Delete. A confirmation message appears.
Click OK. The folder is removed.
To navigate within the local or remote files and folders
In the text box at the top of the pane, click the down arrow to browse for the location, then press enter.
The files and folders for the location appear in the pane (if you have permission to access it).
In the upper-right corner of the file system panes, click the Up Folder icon.
To sort the files and folders within the local or remote file system
Click the column header of the column by which you want to sort the list.
For example, to sort by file type, click the page icon in the far left column; to sort by date, click Modified.
