The Web Transfer Client (WTC) uses the Java Runtime Environment to run the applet. Because of limitations of the current Java API, you must edit the Java Runtime Environment Settings to specify Runtime Parameters, as described in the procedure below.

IPv6 literal addresses (RFC 2732) are not supported when using the Web Transfer Client (WTC).
When using the WTC in Firefox on an IPv6 Site, you cannot add a "Security Exception" for the self-signed certificate. To specify Java Runtime Parameters in Windows 7
Click Start > Control Panel > Java. The Java Control Panel appears.
Click the Java tab.
Click View. The Java Runtime Version User tab appears.
In the Runtime Parameters box, type or paste the following text, and then click OK.
-Djava.net.preferIPv6Addresses=true
Click OK to close the Java Control Panel.
