Silent Installation of Mail Express Server
The Mail Express Server installer supports silent installation, maintenance,
and removal. Installation proceeds without any prompts or visual indications
to the user. The installer logging functionality may be used to verify
the outcome and diagnose potential issues.
To initiate a silent installation use the /S
command-line parameter and provide additional parameters as described
in Installation Command-Line
Parameters.
The sections below provide information on the required and optional
command line parameters for each of the main functions or paths in the
installer.
New Installation Using an Internal Evaluation Database
This path will instruct the installer to install the Mail Express Server
and the internal SQL Server 2008 R2 Express database instance, initialize
the database, and set it for use by the Mail Express Server. This database
instance is intended for evaluation purposes. Production environments
should use an external SQL Server 2008 R2 database.
This option is only applicable when the Mail Express Server is not already
installed.
