Exchange Actions

Description

Microsoft Exchange is an enterprise messaging solution that provides improved email security and enhanced operational efficiency for members of the IT staff. Exchange comprises a mail server, an email client and groupware applications. Designed for use in a business setting, the Exchange server is often used in conjunction with Microsoft Outlook to take advantage of Outlook's collaborative features, such as the ability to share calendars and contact lists.

The Exchange action contains a variety of activities that can be used to automate common operations on Exchange objects, such as the ability to create calendars/appointments, delete contacts, modify tasks and get email. The Exchange action supports Exchange 2003 which uses the WebDav protocol as well as Exchange 2007 and 2010, which uses the EWS (Exchange Web Service) protocol.

The following table briefly describes the available activities that can be performed on Exchange objects along with the object types supported. Click the appropriate link for more details regarding each activity.

Activity	Description
Exchange - Create object	Creates a new Exchange object. This activity supports creation of a task, appointment or contact.
Exchange - Create session	Creates a session in which to link other Exchange activities.
Exchange - Delete object(s)	Deletes one or more existing Exchange objects of the specified type.
Exchange - Delete single object	Deletes an individual Exchange object of the specified type.
Exchange - End session	Ends an existing session.
Exchange - Get object(s)	Retrieves information about one or more Exchange objects and places the results in a dataset.
Exchange - Modify object	Alters the properties of an existing Exchange object.
Exchange - Move object(s)	Moves one or more Exchange objects to the folder specified.
Exchange - Move Single object	Moves an individual Exchange object to the folder specified.
