Finding and Replacing Text in HTML Documents

Using the integrated editor's powerful search and replace tool, you can search and replace characters, words, sentences, or entire paragraphs

To open search and replace

  1. Click within the HTML Editor pane to ensure that it is the active pane.

  2. On the main menu, click Edit, then click Find/Replace (or press CTRL+F). The Find/Replace dialog box appears.

  3. In the Search for box, type the words to search for or change.

  4. In theReplace withbox, typethe replacement words or phrase.

  5. When entering text into the Search for or Replace with fields, use Ctrl+Enter to insert a line break.

  6. In the Where to search area, specify whether to search only the selected document or all open documents.

  7. If you want to match upper or lower case (depending on which you have typed in the boxes above, select the Match case check box.

  8. Click Find.

  9. If a match is found, it is replaced. To continue to search and replace throughout the document, select Find Next for each instance (or press F3).

Be very careful when choosing the replace option, because it replaces all occurrences. For example, if you want to change all occurrences of one to 1, it will also change words like everyone to every1.
