Optional Permissions for Administrator

On the Server > Administration tab, you can add and remove optional permissions for a selected administrator account.

The optional permissions include:

  • Run & Edit Reports - Allows the selected administrator account to run and edit reports

  • COM (programmatic control) - Allows the selected administrator account to use COM API objects to manage EFT

  • Manage personal data - Allows the selected administrator to manage user account information. An administrator user without permission to Manage personal data can view personal data in the EFT Logs. Remote administrators cannot see the logs.

  • Web Admin Client - Allows selected admin account to use the Web Admin Client. (This is NOT selected by default.) If the Web Admin Client check box is selected, the Programmatic API Policy checkbox/dropdown will become enabled, greyed out, with "use account permission policy" selected. If you try to use the Web Admin Client without Web Client Access selected, you should get an error in the Web Admin Client.

  • Programmatic API Policy - Used to apply full or read-only access to a selected administrator account when Enable REST API is selected. Other permissions can be configured in the PermissionRoles.json file. If the Web Admin Client check box is selected, the Programmatic API Policy checkbox/dropdown will become enabled, greyed out, with "use account permission policy" selected.

Each of these options is enabled by default and independent of the account permissions policy selected (that is, delegated administrators).
