Resetting VFS Folder Permissions
When you reset permissions on a parent folder, you force the subfolders to mirror the parent folder's permissions. This simplifies the permissions status of these folders, making them more predictable.
Resetting folder permissions from a parent folder differs from manually changing the inheritance values of subfolders. In a subfolder, you have the option either to mirror the parent folder's permissions or to keep permissions for any new users and Groups you have added while also mirroring the permissions for all Groups in the parent folder.
