Parsing can be used in File Transfer Jobs to set remote server information, allowing you to define the information as either a Parameter or a Variable. See Parsing Parameters and Variables documentation and Parsing Job Properties documentation for more details on the various values you can obtain with parsing.
In the example below the values reference variables with Parsing, such as <<ServerName>>. These will be substituted with the values of the Variables at submit time.

In summary, parsing allows you to make file transfer Jobs more dynamic by connecting your settings to a JAMS Variable or Parameter.
