Using Powertech RSA SecurID Agent for IBM i
Remote Authentication
Powertech RSA SecurID Agent for IBM i (also referred to as RSA SecurID Agent or SecurID) provides reliable, two-factor user identification and authentication. The first factor is something secret the user knows: a memorized personal identification number (PIN) or password. The second factor is something unique the user possesses: the SecurID card or Soft Token on the PC.
To prevent inappropriate remote and native access to electronic information, Powertech RSA SecurID Agent incorporates RSA Security’s SecurID Authentication as an additional layer of security by requiring selected IBM i sign-on attempts to ask for the current passcode.
This subset of the SecurID help focuses on the Remote Authentication desktop application used to authenticate exit point logon requests. This program, installed on your PC, allows you to configure profiles on IBM i systems on your network, and sync IP addresses to facilitate exit point authentication on those systems.
