Fortra Application Hub

Version 1.4

October 6, 2025

IMPORTANT: Fortra Application Hub 1.4 includes a new major version of PostgreSQL. When performing an upgrade, the installation will not enable this new version automatically. To upgrade, you must run the script upgrade-postgres.sh located in /opt/helpsystems/one. This script will check that the database migration can complete without issue. If the check runs successfully, the script will upgrade the PostgreSQL instance to PostgreSQL 17 and disable PostgreSQL 13. There is a reminder to run this migration in the Web UI. You can check your current version by looking on the Settings/Diagnostics page.
New Features
  • Fortra Application Hub now supports PostgreSQL Server 17. Users running older versions of PostgreSQL will be prompted to upgrade for improved performance, compatibility, and security.

  • Introduced the ability to connect to the internet via proxy. This enables secure retrieval of Fortra product-related data while respecting network security requirements/

  • Added IBM i Server as an authentication provider. Users with IBM i system credentials can now seamlessly sign into Fortra Application Hub.

Enhancements
  • Enhanced logging for IBM i and Linux connectivity, providing clearer insights for administrators, and easier troubleshooting.

  • Reorganized and optimized navigation structure, page layouts, and menus.

  • Consolidated User Security and Authentication under a clearer structure.

  • Updated behavior so that if a user does not have access to Application Manager, the subsection will now be hidden from the left navigation menu.

  • Added support for IBM i systems using password level 4.

Fixes and Security Updates
  • Fixed stability issues related to database compatibility during upgrades.

  • Addressed intermittent authentication failures under certain configurations.

  • Improved overall system resilience under high-load conditions.

  • Fixed an issue where dashboard sharing did not work correctly when sharing to an LDAP group.

  • Fixed issue where in "Dark Mode" multiple connected PTAV Servers were shown in a list with black text on a dark grey background.

  • Updated library used for making SSH connections to Linux systems. This allows connections to Linux systems that require support for newer ciphers and also permits the use of more secure private keys.

  • Upgraded Apache Tomcat to version 9.0.108, addressing known vulnerabilities.

  • Updated versions of various other open source components and dependencies.

  • Updated library used for making SSH connections to Linux systems. This update now allows connections to Linux systems that require support for newer ciphers and also permits the use of more secure private keys.

  • Disabled Tomcat Shutdown Port.

Known Issues
  • Users upgrading from significantly older PostgreSQL versions may experience longer migration times.

  • Proxy connectivity requires correct configuration; misconfigured settings may block data retrieval.

  • IBM i authentication logging is currently limited — additional enhancements are planned for a future release.

  • Problems may occur when installing PTAV agents on AIX; retrying the installation typically resolves the issue.

Powertech

Exit Point Manager for IBM i

Version 8.04

October 9, 2025

New Features
  • Enhancements to the Object Rule by User display screen now show any user-specific rules associated with the same user, in addition to the object rule configuration options. This added visibility enables administrators to quickly identify potential overlaps or gaps between object and user rules, supporting more accurate and efficient policy management.

Enhancements
  • The Change Object Rule by User function has been enhanced to display the Server/Function that was selected by the user when displaying the Target Server Functions. In addition, new function key F11 is available to display the selected *MEMOBJ rules.

  • A new main menu command, Work with Exit Point Manager (WRKEPM) has been provided as an alternative to the Work with Powertech Network Security (WRKPTNS) command. The new command is identical but better effects the name of the product.

  • Added the ability to use F4 to prompt for the location IP address group when creating a new Location rule.

  • The text for the PTUSER and PTADMIN user profiles has been updated to "Run-time User Profile - Fortra Powertech Products" and "Administrator Profile - Fortra Powertech Products" respectively, to reflect that these profiles may be used by several Powertech Products.

  • The field selection prompt within Captured Transactions filters has been updated with more descriptive field names. This improvement enables users to more easily identify and select the appropriate fields during setup and review.

  • Descriptive text has been added to the Create Location Group panel to indicate that the group name must begin with an asterisk.

  • On the Print Object Rules by IP Address Report, it is no longer necessary to include leading zeros in each octet for the IP address to find a match.

  • When a socket rule is created by copying an existing rule with conditions, those conditions can now be optionally included in the new rule.

  • Users are now clearly informed when a rule configuration conflict occurs during the creation of a new rule. If an object rule and a user rule share the same server, function, and profile, Exit Point Manager for IBM i blocks the new rule and prompts the user to review existing configurations.

Fixes
  • Corrected an error with the Print Object Rule (PRTOBJRUL) command, where the SHOWFOR parameter did not operate correctly when set to *NO.

  • Fixed an issue with the Global Rules Facility, which was creating new rules when the flag was set to only change existing rules.

  • The "Position To" field on the filter selection panel for Captured Transactions now allows mixed case entry to properly match filter names.

  • Corrected an error where the "Position To Server/Function" on the Select Server/Select Function panel did not position the list correctly.

  • The PTNSLOGEXT (Extract Audited Transactions) could end in error with message LNS0703. This has been corrected.

  • Several minor issues have been corrected in the Save View function (on the Active Analytics menu).

  • A correction has been made to the Display Socket Rule panel, to prevent errors from being inadvertently displayed when pressing Enter.

  • The Work with Object Rules by User panel has been modified to show inactive rules in white text.
