Message Settings

You can specify whether or not received headers will be stripped from outbound messages as the message is received by the Gateway. 'Received' headers contain information about your internal mail network such as IP addresses and machine names that you may not wish to expose.

Configure Message Settings

  1. Navigate to System > SMTP Settings > Advanced Settings. The Advanced Settings page is displayed.
  2. Move the mouse pointer over the Message Settings area and click Click here to change these settings.
  3. Select or clear the Received Headers check box to indicate whether or not to strip 'Received' headers from outbound messages.
  4. Select the Maximum message size check box and enter a size to specify a maximum message size.
  5. Click Save.
If you change any configuration or policy settings, you must Apply Configuration for the new settings to take effect. You can do this either from the Changes Made panel, or System > ConfigurationApply Configuration. See Apply new configuration for more information. If you use Peer Gateways (i.e. when multiple Gateways are peered), any configuration changes from a local Gateway can then be applied to all the peers at the same time. See Configure Peer Gateways for more information.
