Manage Disposal Actions page
The Manage Disposal Actions page enables you to view and manage the Disposal Actions your Gateway uses.
Navigate to Policy > Policy References > Disposal Actions. The Manage Disposal Actions page is displayed.
Message Areas tab
Click the Message Areas tab to list the message area disposal actions that are currently defined. These disposal actions write messages to a message area. For these messages, you can:
- Allow PMM access to the message area, so that users can control messages they contain.
- Define a release schedule for the message area, for example to control that oversize messages are transmitted in off-peak times.
On the display, indicators in the columns indicate disposal action details:
- Name indicates that the disposal action is currently associated with at least one content rule or policy route.
- System indicates that the disposal action is a System disposal action and cannot be deleted.
- PMM indicates that the disposal action's message area is defined as allowing PMM access.
- Release indicates that the disposal action is configured to release messages according to a timed schedule.

Click the Relay Servers tab to list the relay server disposal actions. You can add disposal actions to relay detected messages to an SMTP server that you define.
On the display, indicators in the columns indicate relay server disposal action details:
- Server indicates the name of the relay server and the port number to which to relay detected or archived messages. Indicates that the disposal action is currently associated with at least one content rule or policy route.
- Alias indicates an alias for the server if specified. This is shown as the relay server name when selecting disposal actions to apply to content rules.
- Mode indicates that the relay server should receive the modified copy of the message.
-
Alternate domain indicates that the mail domain part of the email addresses for all recipients should be changed to use an alternate domain before the Gateway relays messages to the relay server.
This is useful if the relay server only accepts messages addressed to a specific domain that is different from the domain specified in the original recipient email address.
