PMM Mode

You can set the operating mode for the Personal Message Management (PMM) system.

• Off: The PMM system including the portal is currently disabled. The system will not generate digests or provide the PMM portal for your users to manage their trusted senders.
• Digest only: The PMM system will generate digests for your users to release and delete messages, but they will not be able to manage their trusted senders.
• Lite: Your users will not be able to see a real-time list of their held messages or view other mailboxes. They will be able to manage their trusted senders.
• Full: Your users will be able to see a real-time list of their held messages, view other mailboxes and manage their trusted senders.

You can select Full mode without generating digests. A warning will be displayed but the portal will function. To use the PMM Portal in Full mode, you will need to update rules configured in upstream firewalls to allow ICMP, TCP and UDP traffic from the PMM Portal interface in addition to the default Gateway interfaces.

Specify PMM mode

1. Navigate to System > PMM Settings > PMM Mode. The PMM Mode page is displayed.

   The currently selected PMM mode and the Features Enabled are indicated.

2. Click Click here to change these settings and select the mode:

   • Off
   • Digest only
   • Lite
   • Full

3. Click Save. The selected mode is displayed with a list of the features enabled and configuration advice.
