Portal Settings
You can define how the PMM system will appear on your network, including the role of each of the mail peers.
| If you change the network address of PMM Portal in Red Hat Cockpit, you will also need to re-apply the Portal role and new network address before you can access the Portal. |
PMM Portal Host Name
The PMM Portal host name is the name by which the PMM Portal is known within the DNS system of your organization.
- Navigate to System > PMM Settings > Portal Settings. The Portal Settings page is displayed.
- In the PMM Portal Host Name panel, click Click here to change these settings.
- Select the host name for the PMM Portal.
- Click Save.
| The PMM Portal Host Name needs to be mapped to the IP address of the portal. If the portal is subsequently reconfigured to Lite mode or run on a different peer, this IP address will no longer be valid and, therefore, links in digests will no longer work. To resolve this issue, change the DNS to remap the host or provide a new host name. |
Peer Roles within PMM
Within your Gateway system, you can select which peer will act as "PMM Portal", and/or the "PMM Digest Generator" and/or the "Mobile Connector".
The following information is listed for each peer:
- Mail Peer: The name of the peer
- Role: Whether the peer is a Portal and/or Digest Generator and/or Mobile Connector
- IP Address: The IP address and NIC
- SSL Certificate: Details of any SSL certificate
A digital means of proving your identity. When you send a digitally-signed message, you are sending your certificate and public key. Certificates are issued by a certification authority and can expire or be revoked.
| If the Portal is configured to share the same NIC as the administration UI, the IP addresses for both the PMM Portal and the UI must be on the same network. |

If you change any configuration or policy settings, you must Apply Configuration for the new settings to take effect. You can do this either from the Changes Made panel, or System > Configuration > Apply Configuration. See Apply new configuration for more information. If you use Peer Gateways (i.e. when multiple Gateways are peered), any configuration changes from a local Gateway can then be applied to all the peers at the same time. See Peer Gateways for more information. |
