Connectivity Test

The Connectivity Test diagnostic tool enables you to test a policy's settings for connectivity to system components.

The connectivity tests are performed on the policy that is open in the policy editor. This is not necessarily the active policy if changes have been made since the policy was last applied. The In-use test result shows whether or not the setting is part of the active policy.

Run connectivity tests

  1. Under the System menu, select a submenu under which Connectivity Test is displayed in the task panel.

Depending on a submenu you select under the System menu, Connectivity Test may not be displayed in the task panel.

Select a submenu under which Connectivity Test is available, for example, System > System Settings > Ethernet Settings, and System > System Settings > HTTP Proxy Settings.

  2. The Connectivity Test dialog is displayed. The dialog also displays the results of the test when it was last run.
  3. Click Run Tests. The dialog displays a progress bar while the test is run. When completed, the result for each test group is indicated with (passed) or (failed).
  4. Click:

    • View Results: To display test details. See Viewing test results below for more information.
    • Email: To email the results in an XML file attachment to a specified recipient. For example, you could mail the results to Support to for assistance.
  5. Click Close to close the dialog.

View test results

The results page displays the detailed results for each test group. (passed) or (failed) indicates the result for a specific test component.

Troubleshooting

If a connectivity test fails, use the Checklist displayed for the test group to resolve the issue. Review your configuration and make required adjustments. For example, check the configuration of any static routes for the HTTP test failure.
