Configuration

You can modify your preferences for the alarm-related notifications using the Configuration tab.

SNMP and SCOM Configuration

SNMP and SCOM servers are configured using Red Hat Cockpit.

You can configure Secure ICAP Gateway to send notifications to a specified SNMP management station or email address when an alarm is raised by the Gateway.

This enables administrators to be notified of alarm conditions without having to log on to the Gateway, reducing potential downtime. For example, when an alarm is raised by the Gateway, an email could be sent directly to the system administrator. Or, an SNMP trap could be sent to an SNMP management station, which could in turn be configured to send an SMS text message to the administrator's cellular phone.

Test SNMP Traps

  1. Navigate to System > Monitoring & Control > Logs & Alarms.
  2. Select the Configuration tab.
  3. In the task panel, click Test SNMP Traps. You will need to independently verify that the test trap has reached the SNMP management station. The UI reports the number of traps successfully sent and to which management stations.
You can enable and disable SNMP and email notifications on the System Alarms tab.

Email Alarm Message Template

To send an email notification when an alarm is raised by the Gateway, you need to configure the notification's template.

  1. Navigate to System > Monitoring & Control > Logs & Alarms.
  2. Select the Configuration tab.
  3. In the Email Alarm Message Template panel, click Click here to change these settings.
  4. Specify From (sender), To (recipient), Subject and body text to be used in the notification. The subject and body text can be generated dynamically using tokens.

  5. Click Save.
After you have configured the template, you can enable email notifications on the System Alarms tab.

Proactive Alerts - Message Body Template

The Proactive Alerts feature is an extra security measure to ensure that your Secure ICAP Gateway is functioning appropriately and proactively flagging any system abnormalities and potential risks.

The Proactive Alerts feature requires a license. If you have not purchased the license for this feature, the Proactive Alerts - Message Body Template panel will not be displayed in the user interface.

The Proactive Alerts feature sends two types of email notifications from a specified email address of your organization to Clearswift.

Message body of these emails is controlled by a template which consists of several tokens. By default, the %LICENSEKEY%, %VERSION% and %SYSTEMID% tokens are included in this template. For the alarm emails, status and name of the alarm are also included.

You can add more tokens to the template, or remove tokens you do not wish to use from it.

  1. Navigate to System > Monitoring & Control > Logs & Alarms.
  2. Select the Configuration tab.
  3. In the Proactive Alerts - Message Body Template panel, click Click here to change these settings.
  4. Add or remove the tokens to be used in the message body of the Proactive Alerts emails. A minimum of one token must be selected.

  5. Click Save.
