Copy to Message Area action

The Copy to Message Area action holds a copy of a detected message in a specified message area. See Create, edit or delete a disposal action for information on creating a new message area.

You can apply the Copy to Message Area action to the Detect Lexical Expression content rule only.

 
  • This action is not designed for long term message archiving.
  • If you select a message area that has an expiry period, Secure Exchange Gateway will delete messages copied to this message area after this period expires.
  • If you apply a Copy to Message Area action and set a disposal action to hold messages in a different message area, you will have two copies of the same message. If you delete the message from one message area, it still remains in the other.

Apply the action to a content rule

  1. Inside the What To Do? area of the content rule, click New next to the What Else to Do? action.
    The Add a What to Do Action dialog is displayed.
  2. Select the action from the list.
    The action is automatically added to the What Else To Do? area.
  3. Close the Add a What to Do Action dialog.

Configure the action

  1. Beside the Copy to Message Area action in the What Else To Do? area, click Click here to change these settings.
  2. From the drop-down menu, specify the message area Secure Exchange Gateway should copy the message to.
  3. Click Save.

    To edit a previously created Copy to Message Area action, follow the steps in Configure the action to change the current settings.

Remove the action from a content rule

Inside the What To Do? area, click next to the What Else to Do? action you want to remove and confirm the deletion.
