View or set image properties
You can view or set properties for a picture in the Image Properties dialog box. The way you display this dialog box depends on whether the image has been added in text in a page area, in the background of a page area, or as a map element.
If the image has been added in text in a page area, double-click the image, or
If the image has been added in the background of a page area, right click the page area and choose Properties > Page Area, then click the Background tab. Then click the Properties button, or
If the image has been added as a map element, right click the image and choose Properties. Then click the Properties button.
On the General tab, you can view the following information about the image:
File Color Depth
Image type (a code)
(Optional) Edit the Image Description, if desired. You can’t change any other fields on the General tab.
On the Crop tab, you can crop (trim unwanted parts from) the image.
On the Resize tab, you can increase or reduce the size of a picture.
On the Transparency tab, you can set the image's transparent color, if any. First click the Transparent Color option, and then click the color drop-down.
On the Location tab, you can specify how you want text wrapped around the image.
Select whether you want text that follows the image to be placed to the right of the image, to the left of the image, or below the image.
Specify the amount of margin you want between the image and text that wraps to the left or the right of the image. Enter the margin in pixels.
Specify the amount of margin you want both above and below the image in pixels.
Notes
You can also crop or resize a picture in the Image Properties dialog box.
The description you enter for a picture is shared among all uses of a picture in a file, including images you crop or resize. Adding or changing a description in one occurrence of the image changes it for all other occurrences in the file. The transparent color you set for a picture also applies to all occurrences of the image in the file.
If a .GIF file you import already includes a transparent color, CuteSITE Builder does not automatically recognize it. You must set the transparent color manually, unless the image uses only colors that are already in the CuteSITE Builder color palette.
The PNG file format is very similar to the GIF file format. Due to licensing restrictions, all GIF images you import into CuteSITE Builder and then modify will be saved with the .PNG file extension. GIF images you do not modify, however, will retain the original .GIF file extension.
You can also add animated PNG images to your Web site file. However, the animation is activated only in the published site.
You can’t set a transparent color for images in .JPG or .PIC format.
When you select to wrap text to the left or right of a picture, CuteSITE Builder inserts a floating image marker that shows where the image was initially placed. This marker is typically hidden, but you can choose to display it as you edit the file. You can also select a floating image marker and then right-click it to display the image properties.
