Create a list of links to a sequence

A list of links to a sequence is a list of field links to all pages in the sequence. Many page layouts include a list of links to a sequence by default, as a navigational aid. You can also manually create a list of links to any sequence in the file, including the sequence that the page itself appears in. When you link to the current sequence, CuteSITE Builder keeps track of which page is the current page, and shows the current page’s information as inserted fields.

Create a list of links to the pages in a page’s own sequence

Right-click the page area where you want to insert the list of links and choose Create List from > Current Page’s Sequence. The List Contents and Format dialog box opens.
Select the field links to use in the list and select a format for the list.
(Optional) If you are creating a list that includes multiple field links, select whether you want CuteSITE Builder to insert a tab or a colon as the separator between the links.
To include the list of links on other pages, repeat the procedure on each page.

Create a list of links to the pages in another sequence

Right-click the page area where you want to insert the list of links and choose Create List from > Another Sequence. The List Contents and Format dialog box opens.
Select the field links to use in the list and select a format for the list.
(Optional) If you are creating a list that includes multiple field links, select whether you want CuteSITE Builder to insert a tab or a colon as the separator between the links.
In the map, click the sequence to which you want to create the links. The pointer changes to the link shape when you move over the map. If you are displaying the outline, you can also click a sequence title in the outline.

Links to sequences are useful on overview pages. For example, one overview page may contain links to each sequence in your file.
When you create a list of links to a sequence, CuteSITE Builder uses the field information as it appears in the page’s Page Properties dialog box. Any changes to the fields in the Page Properties box are automatically reflected in all field links that use that information.
Similarly, if you edit the link, the change is automatically updated in the linked page’s Page Properties box, and in all other field links in the file. The list of links also automatically updates if you change the order in which the pages appear in the sequence, or if you add pages to the sequence.
To change the format of a list of links, select the list and then choose Link > Link Properties. Click the Edit button in the Link Properties dialog box, and the List Contents and Format dialog box appears.
You can also change the appearance of a list of links by applying local formatting (such as fonts or attributes) or a named style. However, CuteSITE Builder maintains a consistent appearance for the list. This means if you apply local formatting to any part of the list, the entire list takes on the formatting. Similarly, if you want to apply a named style, you must select the entire list and then choose Format > Style. If you select only part of the list, the Style command appears grayed.
