Adjust CuteSITE Builder options for KODAK Photo CD images saved in a .pcd file
Older KODAK Photo CD's contain images saved in a .pcd file, but KODAK's more recent CD's contain images already saved in a .jpg or .bmp format. While CuteSITE Builder allows you to easily configure all .jpg and .bmp files, you can also work with images saved in a .pcd file.
You can insert KODAK Photo CD images that are saved as .pcd files into a CuteSITE Builder file just as you would any other image, and there are special options for these images. Any changes you make to these options are applied to all KODAK Photo CD images (.pcd files) you then add to CuteSITE Builder files, and remain in effect until you change the settings again.
Choose Tools > Options.
Click the Photo CD tab.
Specify whether to save KODAK Photo CD images in Web file as .PNG or .JPG files.
If you selected JPG in step 3, select a quality setting.
For the image size, select the resolution that you want saved with your CuteSITE Builder files.
Notes
If your Kodak Photo CD contains images already stored as .jpg or .bmp files, you can easily insert these images by going to the Insert Image/Clipart dialog. To work in this dialog, right-click in the page at the place you want to insert the image and then select Insert > Image/Clipart.
You can also change these .pcd file options from the Insert Image/Clipart dialog. Select the KODAK Photo CD image that you want to insert, then click Options.
These settings apply to all files you work on, and are saved when you exit from the current CuteSITE Builder session.
The recommended quality setting for JPG images is 20. This is a lower quality, which means a higher compression, and results in a faster download time when the image is viewed from your Web site. On most Web sites, the difference between high- and low-quality JPG images is not always noticeable, but the difference in download time between the two quality settings can be significant.
768 x 512 is typically the most useful size for a picture in CuteSITE Builder. KODAK Photo CD images store multiple resolutions ranging from 96 x 64 to 3072 x 2048; however, the maximum image size that CuteSITE Builder supports at this time is 1536 x 1024.
You can also specify options for saving large images.
