View or set picture properties
You can view or set properties for a picture in the Image Properties dialog box. The way you display this dialog box depends on whether the picture has been added in text in a page area, in the background of a page area, or as a map element.
1. If the picture has been added in text in a page area, double-click the picture.
If the picture has been added in the background of a page area, right click the page area and choose Properties > Page Area, then click the Background tab. Then click the Properties button.
If the picture has been added as a map element, right-click the picture and choose Properties. Then click the Properties button.
2. On the General tab, you can view the following information about the picture:
· File Color Depth
· Image type (a code)
3. (Optional) Edit the Image Description, if desired. You cannot change any other fields on the General tab.
4. On the Crop tab, you can crop (trim unwanted parts from) the picture.
5. On the Resize tab, you can increase or reduce the size of a picture.
6. On the Transparency tab, you can set the picture's transparent color, if any. First select the Transparent Color check box, and then click the color drop-down.
7. On the Location tab, you can specify how you want text wrapped around the picture.
· Select whether you want text that follows the picture to be placed to the right of the picture, to the left of the picture, or below the picture.
· Secify the amount of margin you want between the picture and text that wraps to the left or the right of the picture. Enter the margin in pixels.
· Specify the amount of margin you want both above and below the picture in pixels.
Notes
n You can also crop or resize a picture in the Image Properties dialog box.
n The description you enter for a picture is shared among all uses of a picture in a file, including pictures you crop or resize. Adding or changing a description in one occurrence of the picture changes it for all other occurrences in the file.
The transparent color you set for a picture also applies to all occurrences of the picture in the file.
n If a .GIF file you import already includes a transparent color, CuteSITE Builder does not automatically recognize it. You must set the transparent color manually, unless the picture uses only colors that are already in the CuteSITE Builder color palette.
n The PNG file format is very similar to the GIF file format. Due to licensing restrictions, all GIF pictures you import into CuteSITE Builder and then modify will be saved with the .PNG file extension. GIF pictures you do not modify, however, will retain the original .GIF file extension.
n You can also add animated PNG pictures to your Web site file. However, the animation is activated only in the published site.
n You cannot set a transparent color for pictures in .JPG or .PIC format.
n When you select to wrap text to the left or right of a picture, CuteSITE Builder inserts a floating picture marker that shows where the picture was initially placed. This marker is typically hidden, but you can choose to display it as you edit the file. You can also select a floating picture marker and then right-click it to display the picture properties.
