Change the priority order of elements in the map
Priority order determines which map elements take precedence when two or more elements overlap. Most map elements have a fixed order; you can, however, change the priority order for shapes and pictures.
1. Right-click the shape or picture and choose Priority.
2. Choose one of the following commands to change the position of the shape or picture relative to the other shapes or pictures that overlap it:
Bring to front
Send to back
Bring forward one
Send backward one
Notes
You can also choose Map > Priority while the map is active to change priority order.
The priority order of map elements runs as follows, from back to front: shapes and pictures; labels; pages, sequences, and tour sequences lines. This means that labels always appear on top of shapes and pictures, and that pages, sequences, and tour sequences always appear on top of any other map elements.
