Edit an embedded object
To edit an embedded object, you must have access to the application in which the object was created.
1. Right-click on the embedded object.
2. Review the menu that displays, to see what verbs are available for this object.
3. Choose Open or Edit. CuteSITE Builder launches the object's own editor in a separate window.
4. Adjust the object's contents.
5. Choose Close and Return (or the equivalent command) to store the changes within CuteSITE Builder.
6. Choose File > Save to save the CuteSITE Builder file, to preserve your changes.
Notes
n Objects you embed in a CuteSITE Builder page do not maintain active links to the files from which you created them. Changes you make to a object in CuteSITE Builder will not be reflected in its original file, and changes you make to the original file will not be reflected in the object.
n When you edit or execute an embedded object, it displays in its own application window.
n You can view and adjust object properties in order to change the way objects appear within CuteSITE Builder. Essentially, you are changing the properties of the surface of the object as presented in a CuteSITE Builder page; for changes to content, edit the object itself.
n To embed an object, right-click where you want the object to appear and choose Insert > Object.
n When you insert a new object, or cut an object from the clipboard, and that object does not already have a description, CuteSITE Builder puts the description from the object's system configuration (if any) into the object properties under Description.
n If object performance or file size becomes an issue, you can right-click and choose Change Object to Image to paste a picture that has the object's appearance, without its behavior. This change is one-way, unless you have recently made the change and can still choose Undo; to reverse the change, you must embed the original file again.
n Objects cannot be exported; when you publish to the Web, objects are automatically converted to pictures.
