Templates give Web site files a head start by providing already created pages, sequences, map elements, and so on. You can create templates to reuse yourself or to distribute to other users.
1. Open a CuteSITE Builder file as usual, by choosing File > Open or File > New.
2. In this file, define the content for the template by creating the desired pages and sequences, adding map elements, and so on. You can also establish the exact arrangement of maps and other window features that seems best for this specific type of file.
3. Choose File > Save As.
4. Open the WebDesigns folder. By default, CuteSITE Builder saves templates in the WebDesigns folder. It’s good practice to save new templates in this folder, though not required.
5. Click the Save as Type drop-down arrow and choose CuteSITE Builder Template Files. CuteSITE Builder template files have the extension .TLT.
6. Type a name for the template.
7. Click Save.
8. (Optional) Create a text file that explains the primary use of the template. Give it the exact same name as the template, with the extension .TXT, and place it in the same directory as the template. CuteSITE Builder displays the contents of such associated text files when users select your template from the list of available templates.
9. (Optional) In the same directory as the other two files, put a thumbnail-sized bitmap that explains which Web design the template uses. To do this, copy the bitmap created for the design, and give it the same name as the template, with the extension .BMP. For more information on these thumbnails, see Hints for Creating Web Designs.
